i always try to pretend i don’t get butthurt when i read someones ins/outs list and they name something on their ‘outs’ list that i love. but i always end up making these lists to do a little ‘vibe check’ to see what i’m currently into because tastes change all the time and ultimately, it’s just an opinion. so here’s my list of ins/outs - of course, you can disagree with something that i’ve put on my ‘outs’ list and the world will continue to keep spinning! having your own opinion is hot and it’s the ultimate ‘in’ ⭐️
ins —
nonverbal time 8-10pm - when my nightlight is on and my book is in my hand, respectfully, don’t talk to me
butter yellow, navy blue, chocolate brown, dark plum, dark green - i’m branching out of my all-black everything lifestyle
activity-based hang outs - ‘im down for whatever’ and ‘let’s go with the flow’ are fighting words to me
long form video content
outfit repeating - especially with the nonstop trends, i’ve been trying to invest in more staple pieces that i will wear on a regular basis
cottage cheese - we got protein goals to hit girl!
bidding on ebay - i bid on my first ebay find last week and it was exhilarating when i won! overall, secondhand shopping is always ‘in’
jawline as an accessory - i like to call my jawline an accessory so i can remember to gua sha everyday
telling my dishes it’s bath time to romanticize doing the dishes
jeans and a white/black t-shirt - basics never fail!
audio messages - please send me the lore via audio message like a podcast
saying ‘123 eyes on me’ when my friends aren’t paying attention to me (i’m a leo)
intentional clutter - makes my space more cozy and lived-in
solo dates - huge believer that doing things alone makes you a better partner, friend, person
boundaries - be forthright and establish boundaries
chunky/statement accessories
journaling
outs —
excessive screen time - pick up a book please 🙏🏽
being late - tardiness is literally the most unattractive trait im sorry
imposter syndrome
binge watching shows (guilty)
phone before bed (guilty)
saving a cute outfit for a special occasion
millenial grey, beige or all white for home decor
being nonchalant - show people you care!
snoozing your alarm
boring wellness podcasts
waiting for the perfect scenario to start something
asking for other people’s opinion - go with your gut or just ask the closest people to you!
thank you for reading this week’s newsletter! what are some of your ins + outs for this spring? ⭐️
Nonverbal time is definitely an in, next to tech-light solo dates (coffee & journaling, museum visit, …) and intentional creative moments. Out are internalised toxic expectations, saying yes when I want to say no, screen time before 9am and past 9pm.
heavy on the nonverbal time and journaling! my favourite time of day is when i get to sit on my bed in the evening and play my favourite music - my out is waking up late, i’ve been going to bed earlier, and it makes me realise how much i stay up on my phone at night, when it doesn’t even benefit me at all.
